BRENT CROOKS BRIDGING THE GAP
For Brent Crooks, being able to bring the concerns and issues of the Northern construction industry to the national table has been a big part of his role in the Canadian Construction Association.
As vice-chair of the national organization, established in 1918 with a vision to build Canada with ethics, skills and responsibility, Crooks is a firm believe in the mission of the association - to be the national voice for the Canadian construction industry.

DESIGN-BUILD RATING SCHEDULE EVALUATION CRITERIA
Over the past several month the NWT & Nunavut Construction Association and the Public Works and Services Department, GNWT, have been discussing the evaluation criteria for design-build RFPs. The primary concerns raised by our Association focused on the incorporation and recognition of northern experience with management, subtrades and consultants. On February 15, 2012 Public Works and Services met with our Board of Directors describing the proposed changes (illustrated below). This table is included in the current Hay River Health Centre Design-Build RFP. Our Association is encouraged by the incorporation and recognition of northern experience in all of the discussed categories.
