TERRITORIAL SKILLS COMPETITION
The Northwest Territories & Nunavut Construction Association in our ongoing efforts to develop true northern capacity within the Construction Sector will once again participate in this year's annual Territorial Skills Competition on April 17th, 2012 in Yellowknife, NT. The Territorial Skills Competition (TSC) is a one-day event that highlights trades and technology careers for students, parents, educators, and the general public. It offers a venue for young northerners to showcase their skills in an Olympic-style skills competition.

DESIGN-BUILD RATING SCHEDULE EVALUATION CRITERIA
Over the past several month the NWT & Nunavut Construction Association and the Public Works and Services Department, GNWT, have been discussing the evaluation criteria for design-build RFPs. The primary concerns raised by our Association focused on the incorporation and recognition of northern experience with management, subtrades and consultants. On February 15, 2012 Public Works and Services met with our Board of Directors describing the proposed changes (illustrated below). This table is included in the current Hay River Health Centre Design-Build RFP. Our Association is encouraged by the incorporation and recognition of northern experience in all of the discussed categories.
